Calculus Introduction - What are we trying to accomplish with the first calculus fundamental?

This course directly focuses on what the derivative is, the new derivative components that show up, how to understand the components and how to manipulate them to access specific formats of derivative information.

This course is like a good reference for learning how to drive. We all likely share the experience of sitting passenger in a car with our parents for years before trying to drive a car ourselves. This gave us time to observe and digest the key principles of operating a car and when it was time for us to give it a go, we had a pretty good starting point to build off. This course builds an understanding of what the core fundamentals of calculus are getting at and prepares a student to learn the methods for utilizing the derivative function by allowing them to see how it works before trying it themselves. Currently, students get no introduction to what it is the calculus course will be about before showing up the first day of class! I'm here to change that.

This introduction video is 2.5 hours, taking you from the ground level through the first key concept every calculus student learns initially, the derivative function. After this video you will certainly be prepared to start a high school AP calculus course! (All for less than what a 1-hour tutoring session with me would cost)

I'm excited to be able to offer a solution for a problem I've seen so many calculus students struggle with. This introduction video has been carefully crafted by myself, calling on my personal experience, to deliver the calculus introduction I have presented to so many students who have in turn been revitalized with confidence in this course. This isn't some AI, quickly put together course; I take great pride in the impact I have been able to make in my community of students and have worked to deliver a product I stand behind. The challenge of creating this introduction was understanding how to deliver the personalized instruction without actually sitting next to your student. I do believe I have delivered on creating the next best option after hiring me as your in-person math tutor.
